San Francisco Invades Manhattan and the CMJ Music Marathon
October 18, 2007. Ace of Clubs, New York NY
Talking House and The City of San Francisco present SF@CMJ -- Bringing a taste of San Francisco's hippest music to the gathered hordes of indie rock fans and industry suits.
Featuring left-coast buzz bands and up-and-comers The Matches, Scissors For Lefty, Mud, Minipop, A Band Called Pain, and Blammos -- SF@CMJ is the first City of San Francisco CMJ showcase ever. It happens October 18 at Ace of Clubs in Manhattan's East Village, site of previous breakout CMJ performances by bands like Spinto Band, Silversun Pickups and Jucifer.
And now, Gibson has announced it's joining with Talking House and The City of San Francisco at SF@CMJ! To celebrate the west's best indie music, Gibson joins us at SF@CMJ to offer up the most amazing door prize at the festival: a brand new Gibson Les Paul Special!! The Les Paul Special first appeared in 1955, and today it retains its vintage look and feel and adds modern humbucking power!
SF@CMJ follows fast on last March's Austin TX thrill-ride, SF x SXSW -- the official SXSW party of the City of San Francisco -- and the new LIVE album of loud beer-soaked performances from that show, "Live From SF x SXSW" available at SF@CMJ, and at a store or download retailer near you!
"The City of San Francisco is thrilled to co-host with Talking House at the City's first official CMJ showcase, and to flaunt a few of SF's many amazing local artists," said Jocelyn Kane, Deputy Director, San Francisco Entertainment Commission. "The local music scene in SF is second to none, and we want the world to know it!"
